RIS Offers Radon Testing

Radon is a carcinogenic gas that is hazardous to inhale.  Though it is a naturally occurring radioactive gas found in soils, rock, and water, radon also tends to collect in homes, sometimes to very high concentrations, and can be a serious threat to the health of its inhabitants.The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) recommends that ALL homebuyers have an indoor radon test conducted.

 

Radon is a Class A carcinogen and the second-leading cause of lung cancer, estimated to cause 15,000-20,000 deaths in the US annually. According to the EPA’s Map of Radon Zones, Wake County is classified as a Zone 2 (second highest radon category in North Carolina. Raleigh Inspection Service, Inc. strongly suggests buyers having a radon test conducted in the home they are purchasing.
